Minister Alfred Quarles III, a native of Plainfield, New Jersey, has been profoundly shaped by his spiritual journey under the mentorship of the late Bishop Michael C. Grayer at Refuge Church of Christ in Plainfield, NJ.
During his formative years at Refuge, Minister Quarles actively engaged in the church's youth department, lending his voice to the melodious songs of the Young People's Choir. His commitment to the ministry extended as he honed his musical talents and became a dedicated church musician, using his gift to enhance the worship experiences of various choirs.
In 1998, Minister Quarles embarked on a new chapter of his spiritual journey, joining Grace Emmanuel Church under the leadership of Elder Alfred Quarles Jr. Within this faith community, he continued to serve with unwavering devotion. Minister Quarles shared his musical talents, led the congregation in uplifting praise and worship, assumed the responsibilities of a deacon, and ultimately answered a profound divine calling as an ordained minister.
In 2021, after the passing of Elder Alfred Quarles Jr., God's providence led Minister Alfred Quarles III to step into the role of interim pastor at Grace Emmanuel Church. He has taken up the mantle of leadership and is steadfastly continuing the vital work of the church, guided by his deep faith and unwavering commitment.
