Welcome to the Grace Emmanuel Church Website!
Pastor Alfred Quarles III is a native of Plainfield, New Jersey, whose spiritual foundation was laid under the mentorship of the late Bishop Michael C. Grayer at Refuge Church of Christ in Plainfield, NJ.
During his formative years at Refuge, Pastor Quarles served actively in the youth department, singing with the Young People's Choir and developing his gifts as a musician. He would go on to serve as a dedicated church musician, supporting the worship of multiple choirs and growing his love for ministry.
In 1998, he joined Grace Emmanuel Church under the leadership of Elder Alfred Quarles Jr. There he continued to serve wholeheartedly - being a church musician, leading praise and worship, serving as a deacon, and ultimately responding to a clear call from God to ordained ministry.
Following the passing of Elder Alfred Quarles Jr. in 2021, Pastor Quarles was appointed to lead Grace Emmanuel Church. He now serves as Pastor, carrying forward the legacy of faith, holiness, and community care that has defined this congregation since its founding in 1984 - and pressing toward all that God has ahead.
